May 2003
We decided that just sitting around the house for the rest of our lives was something that we definitely did not want to do. Life is way too short to waste by vegetating in sticks and mortar. We decided that traveling around the country at a leisurely pace would be both enjoyable and interesting. After investigating several possibilities to accomplish this goal we finally decided, while we were both physically able, that we would invest in a recreational vehicle (RV) to see the country outside of Pasadena, Maryland. After spending a lot of time on the internet searching for the "Right RV Rig", we started our in-person shopping. We decided that a new pick up truck and a 5th wheel trailer would best suit our needs. Here I am looking at a GMC truck; it seemed so big! We didn't buy the GMC truck.
There were many possibilities as far as the 5th Wheel went. In addition to looking at trailers on the local dealer's lots, we visited the Arctic Fox , in Winchester, Virginia, and Sunline , in Denver, Pennsylvania, factories, which were within a few hours of home. Visiting the factories was very enlightening. We saw first hand how trailers are made and it gave us a chance to see "what's behind the walls," and to talk to the factory employees about their products. We finally settled on a Sunline, because we liked its features, felt comfortable with the dealer, Recreation World in Annapolis, Maryland and our salesman, Marcus. Plus, we had a very good factory tour; great people at Sunline. Besides, we selected one of the two remaining 2003 fifth wheel models that the factory had and got a good deal!
June is truck month.
