Missouri 2005

There were a few things that caught our attention while driving through Missouri.

First was the sprawl of St. Louis; seemed like the city went on forever! Next was the cost of housing as reflected in the bill boards; from the $120's. It's been years since we saw anything like that back home! On the negative side of things was the preponderance of humongous billboards that towered into the sky along the highway; one right after the next that stretched for miles and miles; visual pollution at its finest! We found the longest stretch of smooth road in Missouri. We had never seen exit signs where the roads were listed as letters instead of numbers. Missouri had the best rest stops along the way. They had handicapped RV/truck parking--never seen that before! Rest stop number 58 had all-in-one automatic hand washing units. When you put your hand under the unit soap was dispensed, then the water, and finally warm air for drying.
