Kansas 2005

We were well into Kansas when we made our second overnight stop at a truck stop. The prairie went on as far as you could see. Silos became the skyscrapers on the horizon. We didn't see wheat fields, but we did see irrigated sunflower fields. Traveling along in an air-conditioned vehicle moving at 60 miles per hour, it's hard to imagine how the early settlers ever made it as far as the did.
