Approaching the Grand Teton's  from the west gives you a different perspective on these majestic mountains. We left I-15 and headed east on Utah 33 passing through vast areas of farm land where we saw potatoes and corn growing in addition to what appeared to be freshly cut wheat.  Before long we could see the mountains on the horizon over the fields of green and yellow. A beautiful sight to behold.

Our quite campground, Teton Valley Campground is in the town of Victor, population 870. Both pull-thru and back-in sites are grass with full hook ups. Internal roads are compacted dirt. There is a small laundry and showers, and swimming pool. Propane is available and there is a dump station. A small playground will keep the little one occupied. There is no cable TV or hi-speed internet service. There is no Verizon coverage here, but approximately two mile out of town there is coverage. The campground is small, but adequate as a base camp for visiting the nearby national parks.

The town of Victor, with its blinking stop light, is not as up-coming as Driggs, which has a red light. At the Victor Emporium we has delicious Huckleberry milk shakes.

Diggs' has a population of 1,100, and is located eight miles North of Victor. Located in the Teton Valley, Driggs has the Teton Range as it's front door. Driggs is an up and coming town with golf and ski resorts on the horizon; I hope that it will retain it's western charm. There are several new housing developments under construction. Broulim's, the town's new modern grocery store, appears to be the flagship store is a new strip mall shopping center. I hope that the older stores won't fold because of expansion in Driggs . An employee at The Broken Spur General Store said that they receive approximately 10' of snow annually in the valley, but 500" in the mountains.

We saw a little boy and girl practicing roping in the parking lot of the Broken Spur. Grandfather Tad was teaching his grandchildren, Nickalus and his sister Layksyn how to be champion ropers. They were cute with their ropes!
